Although rarely heard of in the United States, kidnappings and other terrorist-related incidents pose serious risks in various areas of the world, especially against U.S. citizens and corporations who often appear very wealthy in less developed regions. Kidnap & ransom insurance can be secured through Lloyd's of London to cover many risks, including individuals (pleasure, corporate, and entertainers); corporate group coverage; or full protection of foreign-based offices (employees, office sites, physical property, and computer equipment) from kidnap, bombings and terrorist computer viruses.
